Practical local planning

Turn a long list
into a workable plan.

Use transparent calculations before opening a menu, then confirm current prices and conditions with the place you choose.

How to use estimates responsibly

These tools help a group agree on limits before looking at promotions. They use only the numbers you enter and transparent planning assumptions. They do not scrape live menus, claim a restaurant's current price or know each person's appetite.

After calculating, choose two or three places, check the visible source date and ask for the actual total. A useful estimate should expose uncertainty rather than hide it.

Worked example

Eight adults allow R140 each for food, R50 each for drinks, R240 total for transport and a ten-percent buffer. The calculator shows the group total and per-person equivalent. If that number is too high, reduce an explicit category instead of hoping the final bill will be lower.
